Maternity pensions confusion

Tuesday 12th August 2008 News Index  There appears to be more and more confusion about the changes to maternity pay that came into effect in April this year. According to the Guardian's Chris Menon, parents are confused about what they are entitled to and the government cannot agree with legal authorities on the interpretation of the changes.
The debate centers around the changes to the Sex discrimination Act made in April 2008 that according to legal experts should entitle women to pension contributions during the 12 months of maternity leave. The government does not agree, however, saying that as pensions are considered a 'paid right' then employers are not obliged to pay pension contributions.

total nightmare trying 2 think of something 2 do for next week. decided on having a quiet, relaxing day on phoebes actual birtday...just seeing grandparents ect in the morning. then on the saturday will be havig a small tea party for a few little friends, no more than 5, and just for an hour/hour an half so plenty of time 2 munch cake and sarnies and sing happy birthday-maybe the disney channel too!...but not too long so birthday girl wont be cranky and house wont b 2 wrecked! should be fun! x x x
