Calls for investigation as cockroaches found in maternity ward
|
Tuesday 12th August 2008 News Index Concerns have been raised as leaked documents from Ipswich hospital revealed that cockroaches and other biting insects had been found in Ipswich Hospital, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
The report revealed that pest controllers had been called out on 228 occasions between Jan 2006 and April 2008. The Conservative MP for Suffolk coastal, John Gummer, called for an explanation from the hospital saying that "I think public health authorities should be extremely concerned".
Whilst the hospital was playing down the findings, concern is understandably growing in the community that the hospital serves.
