Education

Starting pre-school or school is such a major event in your child's life. You will be both excited and worried as your child leaves you for a major part of their life - starting school.

I remember James starting school it was a tearful day, seeing him in uniform, with his school bag, luunch box and cap donned for his first day. For me the transition to school was not too painful and he loved going, but I know many parents did find it hard, not only did they suffer from leaving their children, the children also had problems separating.

So we hope this section will help the transition from pre-school to school for you. As you both embark on this new adventure you will need support and advice on the way to understand this new world for your child. Don't forget it may have been some time since you were at infant or primary school, and things have changed a lot!

This section will provide links to organisations that:

  • can help parents to research their options for pre-school and primary education;
  • offer parents general help during the primary school years.

If you know of any other organisations or web sites that support parents with children approaching or in primary education please forward the details to: debbie@forparentsbyparents.co.uk
