I’m 28 and my husband is 39, due to him having a vasectomy reversal that didn’t work and after wanting a baby for sometime we commenced IVF Treatment in August 2008 and had my eggs removed in September 2008. Unfortunately I became really ill with Ovarian Hyperstimulation and was admitted to hospital for over a week, luckily this only affects a small number of women but I have never felt so ill in my life. I allowed my body 6 months to recover before proceeding with embryo replacement at the beginning of March, I was in complete shock 2 weeks later when I was told it had worked 1st time. I am now 9 ½ weeks pregnant and have been really ill for the last 3 weeks with constant vomiting, nausea and weight loss, it got to a point I couldn’t take it anymore so my GP prescribed Promethazine which is working. I also struggle to stay awake at my desk certain times of the day, generally feel lethargic and am neglecting my poor husband. I have had 2 scans already one at 5 weeks and 1 at 9 weeks, the difference was amazing, it looks like a baby now. I meet my Midwife this week and can’t wait until my 12 weeks scan for that reassurance again that things are progressing as they should. Good luck to everyone.
