Why ForParentsByParents? Well, we wanted to provide an honest forum for parents to air their views about parenthood. We feel that most other information about 'parenthood' does not really reflect the reality of what being a parent is really like.

We wanted to make the site just for parents. We didn't want the views of the health professional or the child 'expert' or the doctor, just the views of the people doing the job!

We also felt that if it were just 'forparentsbyparents' then parents would feel they could be more honest about how they felt. We hope that sharing what it's really like to be a parent may help to open up some of the more taboo areas such as postnatal depression and coping with breastfeeding. It may also help to dispel some of the myths about parenthood, such as babies start to sleep through the night after 6 weeks or teething takes place at 6 months and then its over.

We have run parent groups in the area in which we live to provide the initial content for the site but believe we have only scraped the surface of the issues parent's face. Still we have decided to launch the site and with your help we can make it even better.

So, please support the site. Please share your experiences and air your views. You never know reading your experience may make a difference to someone else who thinks they are the only parent to have ever confronted such an issue.
